Uniboard Apps bring interactivity and web content to Uniboard pages as well as new functionalities to the software. They are created with open Web technologies, the code is available open source, and it is simple to get started developing new ones. Some ideas and examples:

  • A plotter that draws a graph into the page
  • Word games
  • Interactive exercices for mathematics curriculum

  • Image classification game
  • Access to specific online content databases or learning object repository
  • Get a specific stock price on the web, always up to date.
  • A simple spreadsheet
  • A mind-mapping tool based on an existing web service
  • Fun drawing tools

These are a few ideas, but we believe our users will be inspired to come up with uses we have not yet conceived of.

so, share your ideas by leaving a comment!

If you feel like developing one of the Apps suggested here, do not hesitate: check our code repository and submit it to us so we can publish it for all Uniboard users. You will be participating to the creation of open source, standard, free interactive content.

    A 3D virtual environment ! … a way to embed Edusim – http://edusim3d.com into a Uniboard session would be the ultimate !

I would love the ability to have a live video preview window that can be annotated upon using the drawing and text tools and then saved as a page. Perhaps also the ability to capture video.

I wonder about the possibility of an on-screen keyboard. The notes app, for example, requires keyboard entry. It would be great to enter text with an onscreen keyboard.

    Great product.

Hello, thank you for your ideas, here are a few answers :

@Rich, is Edusim a desktop app or does it run through a web broswer.

@john, how do you imagine the live video ? coming for a live stream such as ustream or from a camera/video feed plugged in the computer ? For the ability to capture video, note that we have the “podcast” recording feature that you can find in the “Uniboard” menu.

@christian if you have Windows Vista or Seven with a graphic tablet or TabletPC you can bring the on-screen keyboard from Uniboard (an icon appears on the stylus bar). For the others, we have been evaluating some solutions but we don’t have any answer on the short term

It would be cool if there was an easy way to incorporate Java or Flash simulations such as those from:
