open standards
Uniboard Apps are created in open, standard web technologies, based on W3C Widgets standards. Developing Apps requires only basic Web programming knowledge - HTML and JavaScript.
Examples
Apps can also, for instance:
- Act as interactive content inside a page - like a calculator or interactive exercise
- Provide new functionalities to Uniboard - like a graphing utility
- Pull in data from the Web - like the Wikipedia or Google Maps apps
- Pull in data from an enterprise or school media database
Uniboard Apps can potentially do anything the Web can do, so you can add interactive content, real-time data from the Web, online search, data from social networks, content from a school database, Flash animations... The Web is the limit!
Getting started with App development
- First, Check our existing Apps library. In Uniboard, open the Library and choose the "Apps" tab. Drag the items you want onto the page and see how they work.
- Go to the dedicated pages in the support section to discover the basics of developing Uniboard Apps
- Download the code of our existing Apps, look at our API (if your app needs to interact with Uniboard) and you’ll be ready to create your own Apps.
Share your Apps
Once you have created your App, don’t hesitate to send it to us... After reviewing it, we will add it to our online library. Uniboard users will be able to get it right away. You will be contributing to the creation of open, free interactive content.
